deux furieuses: This Is A Red Line

from #MoreInCommon HOPE not hate by Various Artists

/

about

deux furieuses are an Anglo/Scottish feminist agit punk duo who formed in 2013. Debut album Tracks of Wire was released in May 2016 and Q Magazine, Louder Than War Magazine, Room Thirteen, Punktastic and many more are taking notice. Radio X's John Kennedy has invited the band to play X-Posure Live at The Lexington and to record a One Night Stand live session. deux furieuses have been featured in Huffington Post, Music Week Magazine and Scottish Arts magazine SOGO.

This Is A Red Line was produced by Rob Ellis (PJ Harvey) as part of the Tracks of Wire album session but did not make the cut for the album. The band say "We chose this song for the Hope Not Hate album because it was about the realisation that the Egyptian girl in the iconic 'Girl in the blue bra' witness video still, who was so brutally uncovered, kicked and beaten by security forces, was in fact just like us in her jeans and trainers. No matter what we are wearing or not wearing, underneath we have, to quote Jo Cox, "so much more in common than that which divides us."
